![]() ![]() It is this option for Pro Tools and Pro Tools Ultimate perpetual license owners to get back onto an annual upgrade plan that Avid discontinued on December 31st 2019. To encourage those users back onto an annual upgrade plan, Avid offered a Reinstatement Plan, which for a price, enabled users with a lapsed upgrade plan to buy back into an annual upgrade plan. What Is Reinstatement?Īvid’s aim was that all perpetual Pro Tools and Pro Tools Ultimate owners would take out and renew an annual upgrade plan every year and so always have access to the latest version of Pro Tools.Īs we know, not everyone chose that option, with some users not prepared to take out an annual upgrade plan choosing instead not to spend the money and allow it to lapse. Once Avid dealers have sold out it will no longer be possible to buy a Pro Tools Reinstatement Plan. However, it was possible to purchase a reinstatement plan from an Avid dealer for as long as they have stocks of the reinstatement plan you need, either for Pro Tools Standard or Pro Tools Ultimate. ![]() We have the details… The BackgroundĪvid released a Reinstatement FAQ Knowledgebase article dated November 27th 2019, announcing that with effect from January 1st, 2020, Avid would no longer be offering Reinstatement Plans to reactivate an annual upgrade and support plan for either Pro Tools or Pro Tools Ultimate software.įrom January 1st 2020 it was no longer be able to purchase a reinstatement plan from Avid Online Store, for either Pro Tools or Pro Tools Ultimate. We were under the impression that the remaining stock held by dealers had long sold out but it transpires that a handful of dealers still have some stock. That’s just my two cents. As we announced back in November 2019 in our article Pro Tools Reinstatement Pricing To End Soon - We Have The Facts, that Avid discontinued their reinstatement plans for users who had allowed their support and update plan to lapse. It’s ultimately your decision on what you think will work best for you but I would recommend something else before you make the jump to pro tools. That’s my suggestion but you should definitely just watch some YouTube videos about different daws and do some reading about the features of all of them. You can definitely make some great sounding music with it. It was the daw I got after using audacity when I was just starting out, so I think you may be as happy with it as I was. You could probably be just as happy with reaper or adobe audition or another similar daw but I’m personally a fan of studio one. There aren’t as many free AAX plugins).Īlso I guess studio one artist is on sale right now until May 31st. There are also loads of free/cheap VST plugins out there that you could download(can’t do this with pro tools as it only uses AAX plugins. It also comes with a lot of good sounding synths and other virtual instruments, as well as some pretty good effects. It’s great for multitracking/mixing and it comes with a lot of samples you can use to make beats or more rock n roll style drum tracks. I used it before I started using pro tools and it sounds like it would be great for your purposes. Personally, I would recommend studio one. r/MixClub /r/ListenToThis /r/Music /r/RadioReddit /r/LearnMusic /r/Reasoners /r/AudioPost /r/GameAudio /r/RateMyAudio /r/StudioPorn /r/SFXLibraries Pro Tools Operating System Compatibility ChartĬomputer Optimization and Troubleshooting Guides - Mac and Windows Pro Tools product line feature set comparison ![]() As the site guidelines and their notices tell you, be sure to read the sub rules before participating Feature/Sticky Post Schedule DayĬontent Creation Station - for Evals and Self-Promotion Whether it is yours or theirs, there are no allowable exceptions or appealable circumstances.
